THE 2018 USVI CHERRY BLOSSOM PRINCESS
![]() Brittney Wade
Miss Brittney Wade will be representing the U.S.
Virgin Islands during the Cherry Blossom Princess Festival Week, April 7 - 14, 2018 in Washington, DC. Miss Wade is from Bethesda,
MD and is a 2017 graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Political Science and Business Management. She is the daughter
of Mark Wade and Pauline Pickering-Wade. Her mother is a lifetime Virgin Islands Association "VIADC" member and
a Virgin Islander raised in St. Thomas. Miss Wade is thankful for the opportunity to frequent the USVI since was a little
girl. In addition to spending time with family, she enjoys trips to Lindberg Bay Beach and eating plantains and Johnnie Cakes.
During her time at Columbia University, Miss Wade was a member of the track and field team where she was a 3 time Ivy League
Champion, a NCAA East Region Qualifier, and top 35 in the nation for 800 meter race. She was also a member of the Sigma Delta
Tau sorority. Miss Wade enjoys volunteering and currently spends time addressing women's issues, education and social activism
causes. She is also the 2015 winner of the US Black Chamber academic scholarship. Since graduating in May 2017, Miss Wade
had the opportunity to travel abroad and has begun working for IBM strategy consulting full time.
