2016 Cherry Blossom Festival Activities
In the DC area, the National Cherry Blossom Festival is celebrated in the spring! For one exciting
week during the 4-week National Cherry Blossom Festival, the Cherry Blossom Princesses and Junior Princesses attend several
private and public events. Please see the schedule of public events listed below. Some events are free and some require
tickets. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday, April 8th, if the event is not sold-out before the deadline. The links
to purchase tickets are included with each public event requiring tickets.
Japanese Stone Lantern Lighting Ceremony Sunday, April 10th (Seating
opens at 2:30 PM; program starts at 3:00 PM) Japanese Rock Garden at the Tidal Basin - Independence Avenue and 17th
St SW, Washington, DC The ceremony takes place at the newly dedicated Japanese Rock Garden and
is put on by the National Conference of State Societies (NCSS), in conjunction with the National Park Service National Capital
Region. Please join us for an exciting program, which includes traditional music by the Toho Koto Society of Washington,
DC and songs by the Washington Japanese Choral Society. Cost: Free
Celebration of States and Territories Monday, April 11th from
6:30 to 8:30 PM The Army and Navy Club - 901 17th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20006 The
Celebration of States and Territories is presented by the National Conference of State Societies (NCSS). Enjoy an exciting
evening featuring food and drink from around the country. Cost: $40 per person. Please note that a nominal service fee
will be applied to all tickets at the time of purchase. Attire: Gentlemen are required to wear a coat and tie. Ladies

15th from 6:30 PM to 12 AM Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel - 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22202 The
Official Cherry Blossom Grand Ball and Sushi Reception presented by the National Conference of State Societies (NCSS). Enjoy
a fabulous cocktail and sushi reception prior to dinner, a plated multi-course meal with dessert, an exciting program that
includes many special guests along with the introduction of the 2016 Cherry Blossom Princesses and the official coronation
of the new United States Cherry Blossom Queen, a silent auction, and dancing to the sounds of a live band and DJ. This is
an event not to be missed! Cost: $75 (Youth Ticket for Ages 12 and Under) / $150 (Pearl Level
Ticket) / $200 (Gold Level Ticket). Tables are also available for purchase. Please note that a nominal service fee will be

National Cherry Blossom Parade Saturday, April 16th from 10:00 AM
to NOON Constitution Avenue (Between 7th and 17th Street NW) Washington, DC The energy-filled National Cherry
Blossom Festival Parade runs for 10 blocks along iconic Constitution Avenue. Giant colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats,
marching bands from across the country, celebrity entertainers, and performers burst down the Parade route in a grand spectacle
of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the Festival. The beautiful Cherry Blossom princesses will be part
of the parade. Cost: Free (except for Grandstand seating) Tickets for Grandstand seating can

April 16th from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM Capitol Riverfront (M Street and New Jersey Ave, SE) The Sakura Matsuri-Japanese
Street Festival is the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the U.S.
Cost: $8 if
